TLS - Typewritten Letter Signed; one page, 1941, addressed to the Marquis Mario Mocchi, Referendary of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Milan. Accompanied by original mailing envelope and a small color reprint image. Letter reads:  I had already received extensive news of the happy success of the ceremony commemorating the liberation of Jerusalem, which took place in Milan on 15 July and of the suffrages celebrated in the ancient temple of the Holy Sepulcher for the Knights and Dames of the Italian Lieutenancy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem , passed to eternal peace, during the course of the year. Now the photographic collection, of which Your Excellency has kindly wished to present me as a gift, has made me almost a participant in these ceremonies, and eloquently attests to me the piety and fervor of the Knights and Ladies of Milan, who hold the prestige of the 'Order and thus make a precious contribution to the Missions and Institutes of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Please welcome, therefore, Excellency, with my heartfelt thanks, also my congratulations, as I invoke upon you and your apostolate in the Order the propitiatory and fruitful blessings of God.

CANALI, Nicola (1874 - 1961)
