LS - Letter Signed, one page, 1859, as the newly-designated Nuncio to France. Written to a pastor in Lindau.  Reads:    It is with regret that, through the Count von d'Lippe, at his insistence, you went to so much trouble on my behalf to have an apartment ready for me should I come to Lindau for a few days. Sadly, I do not yet know if and when my business will take me there. In any event, I will let you know in advance when I arrive. Assuring you of my utmost respect... Accompanied by a vintage, small, carte-de-visite portrait (the carte-de-visite alone has a retail value of $125).
