ALS - Autograph Letter Signed, two sides of half sheet of the Couvent Des Dominicans, Strasbourg. Dated 4 October 1967. Addressed to French writer Jean-Marie Paupert (1927-2010). Interesting content!  Reads:  Dear Brother and Friend: I am back after a serious illness which meant that I had to spend 7 weeks in hospital, and which has placed me definitively among the ranks of the infirm. I found your Dossier de Rome in the middle of hundreds of other papers. You know the principal criticism made of this publication. It presents only the summary reports by the theologians, but there are the reports by doctors, couples, psychologists, sociologists, demographers, etc. In short, it is only a part of the dossier. But I have never received any precise information about the content of the rest. What will the ‘essay’ that you speak of be about?  You are now a star theological writer, and I am glad that lay people are stimulating us.

Contrôle des Naissances et Théologie - le Dossier (Birth Control and Theology) was published by Paupert the same year (aux Editions du Seuil, Paris).
