Italian cardinal; moral theologian. Secretary to the Congregation of the Council. In 1985 he was honored by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations for protesting the repeated criticisms against Pius XII, on whose instructions declared himself to have acted in harboring Jews during WWII.
