TLS - Typewritten Letter Signed, one and one-quarter pages,  16 July 1936. Addressed to Giuseppe Fontana, editor of Societa Editrice Savallo, Milano.  Reads:  The sample of the Guide to Milano and Province which you had the kindness of presenting to the Holy Father, along with your kind words, was met with great satisfaction. In fact, the accuracy of the composition and wealth of information in the Guide did not escape the attention of His Holiness, making it a publication of which you should be justly proud. It is a most useful and beautiful volume. Therefore, rejoicing in the merits of this publication, in testimony of His grateful spirit for the homage motivated by your sense of devotion and filial piety, is pleased to impart upon you and your collaborators the Apostolic Blessing...Letter is accompanied by a vintage black and white glossy newswire image of Pacelli dated 1939. Small chip in upper right hand margin, light wear but, overall, very good image.

The Guide to Milan had been published annually since the early 1900s and continued for 70 years. Contemporary copies of the book sell online for $200-300.
