Italian cardinal; academic; archbishop of Bologna. During his tenure as Archbishop of Bologna, Poma founded the second House of Charity, the Mensa della fraternità or Poor People’s Refectory, the Diocesan Charitas and the Mission of the Bolognese Church in Tanzania.
